More Than a Place to Sit: Academy School’s New Outdoor Gathering Spaces
Some of a playground’s best moments happen at the edges, where children sit down, catch their breath, share a laugh, and talk to each other. Premier Park & Play recently brought more of those moments to life at Academy School in Weymouth, Massachusetts, with a full lineup of new picnic tables and benches added across the playground.
Manufactured by Superior Recreational Products, every table and bench at Academy School was placed with a purpose in mind. The layout was planned around education, inclusivity, ADA compliance, and community, with spots suited for outdoor classrooms, shaded reading corners, snack time, and creative projects.
One Playground, Many Purposes
Premier Park & Play selected a mix of styles that match the playground equipment, so the space works for different needs, different group sizes, and different students.
- UltraLeisure Portable Rectangular Table: A classic design built for groups, ideal for a full class during snack time, art projects, or an outdoor lesson.
- Accessible UltraLeisure Portable Rectangular Table: Designed with an extended tabletop overhang, giving students who use wheelchairs or mobility devices a genuine seat at the table.
- UltraLeisure Portable Square Table: A compact footprint that fits smaller gathering spots, perfect for a quiet corner, a small reading group, or two friends eating lunch together.
- Accessible UltraLeisure Portable Square Table: All the flexibility of the square design, with the same thoughtful accessibility features built in.
Alongside the tables, several matching benches were added throughout the playground, giving students and staff more places to sit, supervise, or simply watch a game in progress.
A playground isn’t finished when the climbers and swings go in. It’s finished when every student has a place to land, no matter their needs. Reach out to Premier Park & Play to help build a space on your playground where everyone has a seat.
